Spray Tan Preparations
Preparation
Shower, Shave, and Exfoliate
-
Use oil-free products as directed to ensure your skin is clean, smooth, and ready for the spray tan solution to adhere evenly.
-
Exfoliation Tip: Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles to prevent uneven color absorption.
-
Shaving or waxing should be done at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow pores to close, preventing dark spots from forming.
Avoid Moisturizing
-
Skip moisturizing, body oils, or serums after showering to prevent barriers that may interfere with tan absorption.
Avoid Retinoids & Harsh Skincare
-
Discontinue use of retinoids, acids (AHA/BHA), and acne treatments on the face, chest, or body a few days before your tan, as they can cause uneven fading or prevent the tan from adhering properly.
Day of Your Airbrush Tan
No Makeup, Perfume, or Deodorant
-
Refrain from using these products before your session to ensure your skin is completely clean and free of any barriers that may affect the tan’s development.
Wear Loose, Dark Clothing
-
Opt for loose, dark clothing to prevent rubbing off the tan.
-
Avoid tight clothing, bras, leggings, or socks that may disrupt the development of the tan.
Aftercare & Additional Recommendations
Avoid Water & Sweating While the Tan is Developing
-
Stay dry for at least 8–12 hours after your appointment.
-
Avoid working out, swimming, showering, or sweating during this period to allow the tan to fully develop.
-
Do not schedule massages, facials, or skin treatments while your tan is developing, as they can remove or streak the solution.
Your First Shower
-
Rinse with lukewarm water only—avoid soaps, scrubs, or exfoliants.
-
A bronzer wash-off is normal; your tan will continue to develop over the next 24 hours.
-
It is recommended to use our "Polish" body wash replacement during your first shower to help remove the bronzer evenly without stripping your tan.
Moisturize Daily for a Long-Lasting Glow
-
Keep your skin hydrated to maintain your tan's longevity.
-
We recommend using a hydrating, alcohol-free lotion like NG’s Hydrate, specially designed for spray tans. This lotion is available at 360 Tans.
-
Avoid lotions with mineral oil, alcohol, or harsh fragrances, as they can cause premature fading.
